The Drome Flower Festival
This flower festival, known as the Corso, dates back in the south of France to the time of Roman civilisation. In Nyons the festival has taken place since 1889 and it remains as much fun today as it must have been when the Romans paraded the flowers of spring then. It takes place on the Sunday and Monday of Easter and there are beautifully decorated floats, marching bands and a funfair and in the evenings there is a Son et Lumiere display culminating in fireworks. This would be a good time to search for a home in Rhône-Alpes, as long as you don’t intend viewing any houses during the festival weekend.
