June the 4th is another date for lovers of local produce. It is always on Pentecost Sunday that Rocamadour holds its special market of goats cheese. The area is renowned for cabécou cheese which is a soft goats cheese, dipped in plum brandy, sprinkled with coarse black pepper and wrapped in chestnut leaves to mature. As with all these French festivals there will be much more than cheese to enjoy, after all it’s hard to enjoy the sumptuous flavours without a selection of local wines and then you need the music and that can lead to the dancing!
