Yes, an unlikely thing to find in France but this crocodile farm at Pierrelatte is a really good place for a day out for a break from viewing houses in Drôme . There are more than 400 animals housed here but stars of the visit are the giant tortoises and the crocodiles, of which there are more than ten different species. As well as a place to visit the farm is a research and conservation centre and boasts the largest tropical conservatory in France. Whatever time of year you visit you will certainly not need a coat!
