The meadows, originally farmed have been lovingly
« rewilded » by the present owners to increase biodiversity, and create a haven for nature.
There has been an impressive increase in wild flowers, particularly the 6 varieties of wild orchids, insects and birds species since the project was started.
The meadows are flail mowed by a local farmer in mid June allowing the wild flowers to set seed and if necessary for a second in autumn time .
The lake too is a very special feature.
It was created by the present owners in 2018 after the discovery of a natural a spring which flows all year round via an ancient lavoir discovered under a thicket of brambles and restored.
It has become a haven for aquatic life in the intervening years
