Spring Tides At Mont St. Michel
Normandy’s Spring Tides
During the period of a full moon the spring tides that can be seen in the bay of Mont St, Michel provide a phenomenon that is unique in Europe. Each Spring tide rushes in with a tidal bore, a wave of about 50 cm which thrills kayakers and observers alike. You can even be adventurous and allow yourselves to be marooned on the island until the sea recedes. These tides can be seen between 9-12 February, 8-12 March and 6-9 April. No wonder people buy property in Normandy!
